Midas Management Platform (mView) supports complete FCAPS based device management and other value added features which help the operator manage his network in a trouble-free and elegant manner.

Management support is provided in two flavors:

  • GUI OMC

    • Manages single Network Element

    • Co-located with the Network Element itself

    • Used as a GUI replacement for LCT

    • Supports complete device management

  • Element Management System

    • Manages multiple Network Elements

    • Can be co-located with multiple NEs

    • Can be centrally located to manage remote NEs

    • Supports basic device management and other value added services (like performance analysis tool etc.,)

    • Supports Java API based North Bound Interface

Main Features Top

On top of basic FCAPS support, the Midas Management Platform offers the following useful features:

Client GUI

  • Simple, Elegant and Intuitive GUI: reduces training curve

  • Look and Feel similar to Browser and Windows Explorer

  • Intuitive organization of views based on FCAPS functionality

  • Multi-Level drill down support

  • Comprehensive User Input Validation with help messages

  • Comprehensive User Manual

  • Client runs on both Windows XP and Linux (Redhat EL, CentOS)

Ease of Maintenance

  • Manage Network Elements of different flavors (ULC, CULC, DIAS 24A etc.,) and different software versions from single GUI

  • Crash Recovery: Easy Rollback to automatically backed up configuration in case of crash of any Network Element or the Management System itself

  • Ability to remotely push down and activate images and configuration on NEs

Ease of Commissioning

  • Template based management: Create configuration and QoS (Quality of Service) templates one time and push down to various devices at any time

Ease of Use

  • Fully functional event correlation engine to reduce number of events that the operator needs to act on

  • Online Configuration Management: Do real-time, online configuration on all managed elements

  • Map based topology support (add-on)

User Privilege Management

  • Role based security rights for users and Super Administrator

QOS Management

  • System supports automatic, background polling of any configurable set of NE parameters. This data can be analyzed offline to identify performance bottlenecks, QOS level etc
