Shirish Purohit, CEO & Director
Shirish is a founding director of Midas and is currently the CEO of the company. Shirish oversees business development, customer relationships and relationships with technology partners.
Shirish has a strong track record in managing development activities in the technology space and in managing a company through its early evolution. He has over 20 years experience managing design and development activities in industrial automation, monitoring & control systems, telecommunications and networking products.
Shirish is a serial entrepreneur. He started Texel Systems, focused on automated test and measurement systems, in 1987. The company was subsequently merged with Cutfast I-Tech (P) Ltd. In 1991, he started X-Controls, a products company focused on control systems, automobile electronics and telecommunications. In 1994, Shirish co-founded Midas. Shirish is a recipient of several awards and was recognized as a Young Leader for Science & Technology and given the National Leadership Award 2005 by the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, India.
Shirish holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power & Electronics from Regional Engineering College, Nagpur and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, specializing in integrated circuits and system design.
Rene Abraham, CTO & Director
Rene is the Chief Technology Officer at Midas. He manages Operations, Product Development Lifecycles and Research & Development. Rene provides hands-on leadership and strategy for new cost effective telecommunication solutions. A co-founder of Midas, Rene has nurtured a team of engineers since inception into leaders of Midas' product development efforts.
Prior to Midas, Rene worked with Shirish at Texel Systems and then in Cutfast I-Tech Pvt. Ltd. As an embedded systems design engineer, Rene's skills cover low power system design, real-time software development, analog and digital IC design. He has 17 years of experience at senior management levels in the electronics industry.
Rene holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication from IIT Madras.
G. Rajaretnam, Vice President - Finance
Rajaretnam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He has 27 years of experience in the Banking and Financial domains and handling operations in the manufacturing & software Industry. With a rich corporate experience in finance, accounts and taxation.
Prior to Midas, he worked in senior management functions in the BPL group of companies for 24 years.
N. K. Mohapatra, Head-Sales
Mohapatra (NKM) started his career in R&D. During the course of his 30 year career, he has spanned R&D, manufacturing and business development in the RF / Microwave industry. For the last 10 years NKM has gained tremendous expertise in the India and SAARC countries working with all the major telcos in the region. NKM holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication from IIT Kharagpur and a Master’s in Management Systems from IIT, New Delhi.
Rajesh Jain is the Managing Director of Netcore Solutions Pvt Ltd. Rajesh has a Bachelors degree in in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay (1998) and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York (1989). He worked at Nynex Science & Technology for two years before returning to India in 1992. Rajesh launched India World in 1995 and grew it to be one of the largest collections of India-centric websites comprising Samachar, Khel, Khoj and Bawarchi. India World was acquired by SIFY in November 1999 for USD 115 million in one of Asia's largest Internet deals.
